INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP: POPULATION STATUS AND PROBLEMS OF CONSERVATION OF THE SAKER FALCON, SEPTEMBER 24, 2023, ALMATY Resort Sanatorium, Almaty, Kazakhstan
Russian Raptor Research and Conservation Network (RRRCN), Biodiversity Research and Conservation Center Community Trust (BRCC, Kazakhstan) and MME Birdlife Hungary organize a workshop on the population status and conservation problems of Saker Falcons (Falco cherrug) as a satellite event of the “Eagles of the Palearctic: Study and Conservation” Third International Scientific and Practical Conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 24 September 2023. The main aim of the conference is to update the status of the threatened Saker Falcon populations, therefore the organizers invite presenters to summarize the status of national or regional populations between 2019 and 2023. The focus of the workshop will be on the Asian and East-European breeding populations of the species, but presentations from Central and South Europe are also welcomed. A similar event will be organized in October 2023 in Bulgaria, which will focus on the European populations. The results of the two complementary workshops can help researchers to update the status and conservation strategies of the Saker Falcon worldwide.
