From mechanic to Bustard Keeper
We continue to tell you about Bakhtiyar, a resident of Turkestan Region, who received binoculars from BRCC.
Bakhtiyar lives in a small village and is engaged in agriculture. For many years he has been working on a tractor, sowing fields, harvesting crops. But after meeting Malik Nukusbekov and Bakytzhan Kyrykbai, his work became more diverse. After several conversations about bustards with our staff, Bakhtiyar became interested in this bird, as he had seen it in the fields many times before. Bakhtiyar is now paying more attention to this bird in order to learn about the threats it faces. While doing his work in the fields, Bakhtiyar tries to carefully avoid bustard nests, and if possible even scares foxes away from them. Here is a video shot by Bakhtiyar.
It is worth noting that an important result of the educational work was the fact that more and more tractor drivers during field work now try to bypass clutches without damaging bustard nests.
